About the role
ICME is building the stock market for startup shares. Private companies are staying private longer, but the infrastructure around private equity still feels like it was built for a world of PDFs, lawyers, transfer agents, closed networks, and delayed liquidity. Meanwhile, investors are already trying to access private-company upside through inferior workarounds. ICME is building the official version: real tokenized equity, compliant issuance, programmable ownership, continuous trading, and market infrastructure designed for private companies before IPO. As an engineer, you will help build the technical core of that market. This is not a normal product engineering role. You will be working on the systems that make regulated startup equity programmable, transferable, auditable, and tradable. You will work across restricted-asset smart contracts, eligibility-gated wallet infrastructure, primary issuance flows, order lifecycle systems, settlement logic, market data pipelines, internal ledgers, shareholder recordkeeping, compliance controls, issuer tooling, investor workflows, and surveillance infrastructure. The product should feel simple to users, but underneath it requires precise state management, adversarial thinking, reconciliation, audit trails, and reliable execution. ICME sits at the intersection of capital markets, crypto infrastructure, and regulated securities. The engineering challenge is not just “put shares on-chain.” The challenge is to build a market where real equity can move with software-native speed while preserving the constraints that make it legitimate: identity, eligibility, transfer restrictions, ownership records, issuer controls, disclosure workflows, and settlement integrity. You should expect to own large technical surfaces from day one. We are early, ambitious, and building something structurally new. The right engineer will shape the architecture of a new capital market.
Requirements
We are looking for someone exceptional in at least one core area: smart contract engineering, trading systems, backend financial infrastructure, distributed systems, security engineering, or compliance-aware fintech infrastructure. You should have experience building production systems where correctness matters. That could mean exchange infrastructure, order books, market data systems, settlement systems, restricted-asset protocols, high-integrity backend services, cryptographic signing flows, wallet systems, or security-sensitive financial applications. You should be comfortable reasoning about state transitions, permissions, identity, replayability, reconciliation, transaction ordering, failure recovery, auditability, and consistency under real-world market conditions. ICME is building infrastructure where small mistakes can create financial, legal, or operational consequences, so we care deeply about engineers who can move fast without being sloppy. Strong candidates have a bias toward shipping, but also know when systems need to be boring, durable, and correct. You should be comfortable in ambiguity, able to make architectural tradeoffs, and excited by the idea that crypto rails can power real securities rather than just speculative tokens. Experience with Rust, TypeScript, smart contracts, Postgres, event-driven systems, APIs, indexers, wallet infrastructure, trading systems, market data, permissioned assets, institutional workflows, KYC systems, compliance tooling, or market surveillance is a strong plus. The highest-signal trait is ownership. We want engineers who see the full system, understand why the market matters, and want their work to become part of financial infrastructure that did not exist before.
